A graphic pine knife sharpening box.
 
When needed it would be removed from the wall, laid flat and the long backboard soaked with water. The abrasive, brick dust or similar (which was stored in the base section) would then be spread across the damp surface upon which you’d draw your knife, thus sharpening the blade.
 
Dry, original surface. Offered in unrestored condition.
 
Historic flight-holes throughout – all of which have been treated – consequently the base timber of the box is soft in places but intact overall.
