An earthenware crock with a brown glazed interior adorned with yellow slip.
 
Such pieces served as the refrigerators of their day – the porous exterior would be soaked in cold water and a wooden lid applied to preserve the contents therein.
 
Overall in very good condition, no cracks, some very minor chips to the underside of the rim and foot along with some miniscule glaze loss.
